All Time Broadway Hit Parade: The 120 Greatest Songs by Various.

Twenty sides of vinyl and one hundred and twenty songs make this collection something close to a complete education in the American musical. "All Time Broadway Hit Parade: The 120 Greatest Songs" gathers the standards that defined the golden age of the stage, sweeping from the brassy opener "There's No Business Like Show Business" out of Annie Get Your Gun all the way to the flag-waving finale of "Give My Regards To Broadway" from Little Johnny Jones. If you love the theater and the songwriters who built it, this box is a deep well to fall into.

The great catalogs are here in abundance. Rodgers and Hammerstein arrive in force, with an entire clutch of Oklahoma! favorites lined up together on side B, including "Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'," "The Surrey With The Fringe On Top," and "People Will Say We're In Love," plus rich helpings from The King And I, South Pacific, Carousel, and a full trio from The Sound Of Music in "The Sound Of Music," "Do-Re-Mi," and "My Favorite Things." Lerner and Loewe are represented too, from "If Ever I Would Leave You" out of Camelot to the My Fair Lady sequence of "With A Little Bit Of Luck," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "On The Street Where You Live."

Cole Porter fans will find plenty to savor, with "You're The Top" and "I Get A Kick Out Of You" from Anything Goes, "So In Love" and "Wunderbar" from Kiss Me, Kate, "Night And Day" from Gay Divorce, and "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" from Leave It To Me. Rodgers and Hart turn up again and again, threading through Pal Joey, Babes In Arms, The Boys Of Syracuse, and On Your Toes, while Gershwin numbers like "Embraceable You," "But Not For Me," "Someone To Watch Over Me," and "I've Got A Crush On You" spread themselves generously across the sides.

There is real range beyond the marquee names. Kurt Weill appears with "September Song," "Speak Low," and "Mack The Knife" from Threepenny Opera; Frank Loesser is present in "Sit Down, You're Rockin' The Boat" and "Once In Love With Amy"; and Meredith Willson's Music Man contributes "Seventy Six Trombones" and "Till There Was You." Later shows join the parade as well, from "Everything's Coming Up Roses" out of Gypsy to "People" from Funny Girl and "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler On The Roof.

The LP sides are arranged for continuous play, so the music unfolds without interruption as you work through the set. You will find the catalog number printed on the front of the box cover.
